Delores (Dee) Irene Finn Fluman, 82, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021. She was the dear wife of Albert H Fluman II for 63 years.
Born in Clearfield, PA on July 24, 1938 to the late James and Mary (Brungard) Finn, she grew up in Williamsport, PA with her four siblings: Loretta Jean (Weber), Jim, Dick, and Barbara (Crain). She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1956.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her four children: Albert H Fluman III (Kristin) of Gettysburg, PA; Eric Arland Fluman (Anita) of Lakeland, FL; Brandan Elliott Fluman (Karen) of St. Augustine, FL; Amy Fluman Rettig (Jeff) of St. Petersburg, FL.
Grandma Dee was also blessed to be survived by her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Albert H Fluman IV (Renee) of Millmont, PA; Harrison (Breein) Fluman of Ogden, Utah; Kathleen Fluman of Gettysburg, PA; Joshua Fluman of Lakeland, FL; Sarah (Mark) Reiners of Lakeland, FL; Emerson Delaney Fluman – Wingate University, Wingate, NC; Elliott Marie Fluman – Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL; Nellie Christine Rettig of St. Petersburg; Aubrey Hannah Fluman and Amelia Hope Fluman of Millmont, PA; Leo Elliott Fluman of Gettysburg, PA; Johnathon Allan Reiners and Evelyn Elizabeth Reiners of Lakeland, FL. Her nephew James Mehaffie of Fruit Cove, FL also held a special place in her heart.
Delores lived her life to the fullest. She was personality plus and had a wonderful sense of humor. She had many employment adventures and personal hobbies while raising her four children in Hummelstown, PA. She was active in all her children’s school and sports activities while working at the Hershey Medical Center ER and for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s General Services Administration.
In 1980, Dee moved her family to the Sunshine State and spent almost two decades working for Hernando State Bank/SunTrust Bank in Brooksville, FL. She worked her way from initially greeting bank customers, to a teller, and eventually a trainer in the marketing department. Dee truly loved her job, but upon retirement she enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, and collecting various items for her home. She absolutely loved to travel with her husband and family and took care of everyone in the Smoky Mountains; Eagles Mere; Mt. Gretna; the Pocono Mountains; Austria; Germany; Italy; and especially Switzerland. As she courageously battled Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia in her later years, she faithfully never missed a Tampa Bay Rays game or an episode of Blue Bloods. Dee Fluman was the life of any party and her warmth and genuine care for others will be missed greatly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Fluman Rettig Scholarship at the University of Central Florida or to the American Heart Association/Go Red for Women in St. Petersburg, FL.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 13, 2021, 12:00 p.m. in Montoursville Cemetery.
