Carol M. Hutchinson, 79, passed away December 29, 2020 at UPMC in Williamsport with her loving family by her side.
Carol was born November 8, 1941 in Camden, NJ, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabell Beyel and a brother Danny. Carol married her high school sweetheart, Melvin (Buck) on June 15, 1963, and they had had three children, Carol Hugo, Williamsport, John Hutchinson, Melbourne, FL and Belinda Connelly of Williamsport.
Carol and Buck moved from Blackwood, NJ to Sullivan County to raise their family in the mountains. Carol worked as a certified nurse’s aide at Dar-Way Nursing Home for thirty two years before retiring. She then provided private duty care for the elderly. Carol had a special gift for loving and caring for people, and volunteered for Susquehanna and Southern Care Hospice for a number of years.
Carol’s life revolved around her family, if she was not at home with her husband she was spending time with her children; five grandchildren, Brandon (Katie) Hugo, Brenna Hugo, Damian (Kiia) Silverstrim, Drew (Jen) Connolly, Brynn Connolly; and eight great grandchildren, Remington Kyle, Madeline, Cannon, Anthony, Kennedy, Cooper, Ty and Beanie.
Carol, also known as Mom Mom and Mommy had a heart of gold and was always there when we needed her. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and bling. Anytime someone needed a gift, Mom could hook you up with her hidden treasurers.
In 2016 Carol had a stroke and was unable to care for herself, her husband was determined to care for her at their home for two years until mom required more care with her declining health. Although this was a difficult decision it was decided Mom move to AristaCare, Williamsport and Dad wanted her close to her children. Carol was a guest at AristaCare until she was hospitalized; the staff took great care of her and loved her like family.
Carol and Buck shared a love like none other. Buck would drive six hours a week, sometimes more to spend time with his wife. Their loyalty and dedication truly define the meaning of love.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to all of the staff (family) of AristaCare for taking such good care of Carol and Buck as well.
