41st Whistle Stop Train Show To Be Held Sunday, December 6

Toy train layouts, like Christmas trees, holly and ivy, have been an integral of the Christmas holiday season for as long as many people can remember.

This enduring tradition is being celebrated again at the 41st Annual Whistle Stop Train Show to be held at the Woodward Township Volunteer Fire Company, near Linden on Sunday, December 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $3.

Now in its 41st year, the Whistle Stop Train Show has been held at several different venues including, the Hepburn Township Fire Hall, the Genetti Hotel, the former YMCA Pickelner Arena and most recently at Woodward Township Fire Hall. During those years it has attracted hundreds of model train enthusiasts.

Electric trains of all types, shapes and sizes will be sold, swapped and displayed at this event. Additionally, there were will be various working train layouts on display as well.

“Model trains have been a multi-generational experience in which father and sons and now daughters enjoy the passion of model trains,” Jim Stabley, one of the organizers of the Whistle Stop Train Show, told Webb Weekly. “When Christmas time comes around you can see model train layouts in many homes, and it is something for the entire family to enjoy and our show helps to celebrate this great hobby. In a sense, train layouts are a sort of symbol of the Christmas season. So, come out and see a lot of great trains and train related merchandise.”
