Deanna Mundrick, 80

Deanna Mundrick, 80, of Rauchtown, passed away, Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at the Gatehouse. She was born Aug. 24, 1940 in Jersey Shore the daughter of the late Harry and Lena (Willits) Hostrander.

A lifelong member of the Jersey Shore area, she worked at Manor Care Nursing Home for 28 years; 11 of those years she was an Activity Coordinator there. Deanna’s passion in life was writing, playing and singing music. She was very well known as a singer on stage at many local events. She was involved in many different music groups, including country bands of Milton, Circle D. Ranch Boys, Midnite Ramblers and Lorado. Deanna often entertained customers at Restless Oaks serenading them while they ate their meals; joining her in the entertainment was the restaurant owner Shirley Maguire, along with Shirley’s sons, Robert and Jimmy. During her time as an Activities Coordinator she worked with patients in the Alzheimer’s Unit. Most of all she loved playing and singing at her church praising and giving glory to the Lord. Deanna loved her family very much and treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Nippenose Bible Fellowship.

Deanna is survived by one son, Robert. H. Mundrick (Judy); three daughters, Donna Bower (Randy), Kris Stabley (Jeff) and Selena Tawney, all of Jersey Shore; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Howard Hostrander (Kay) of Florida and her son-in-law, Robert L. Miller of Jersey Shore.

In addition to her parents; Deanna was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Kay Miller, two sisters, Mildred Manikowski and Edna Harer, brother-in-law Louie Manikowski, and a grandson, Logan Tawney.
There will be a celebration of Deanna’s life, Thurs. Oct 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Nippenose Bible Fellowship, Schoolhouse Road, Jersey Shore. There will be a time of fellowship following the service. In lieu of flowers, Deanna requested donations can be made in her memory to Nippenose Bible Fellowship, 92 Schoolhouse Road, Jersey Shore.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore.
