Robert George “Bob” Wagner, 82, of Mill Hall passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2020 after a brief stay at The Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born February 22, 1938 in Loganton, he was a son of the late Ada and George Wagner.
On April 24, 1959 he married the love of his life, Edith (McCauley) (Walizer) Wagner, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Robert was a self-taught heavy equipment operator who began his career with James P. Webb Road Contractor. He then worked for Old Lycoming Twp. as Roadmaster and became a Supervisor for Bald Eagle Twp. where he later worked and retired from. After retirement, he worked for EADS Engineering as a Sewer/Water Project Inspector and as a proficient Grader Operator. Bob also worked for numerous local contractors as needed. In his early years, he operated his own excavating, paving and driveway sealing business on the side.
Besides being a hardworker, Bob was a member of the Free Masons.
He was also a member of the Laurel Run United Methodist Church.
Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Most special was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and friends.
Robert was a great husband, father and mentor to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew and worked with him.
In addition to his wife, Edith Wagner, he is survived by his step-daughter, Vickie (James) Statton of Mill Hall; his son, Robert (Sue) Wagner, Jr. of Mill Hall; his daughter, Debra “Debbie” (John) Cicala of Avonmore; five grandchildren: James (Teri) Statton, Jr., Jason (Gertrude) Wagner, Jodi Wagner, Dominick Cicala and Giovanni Cicala; six great grandchildren: Cody, Alicia and Logan Wagner, Colby Kline and Colton Struble; seven brothers: Gardner, Walter, Glenn, Elwood, Merle, Gene and Daryl Wagner; and two sisters, Betty Derr and Sharon Winans.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: June Snyder, Lois Emery, Arnice Karstetter and Gloria Snook as well as triplet infant siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 6 P.M. at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745. Private interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 P.M. until the time of the service.
