Lorraine J. (Mulholland) Morrett, 95, of Cogan Station, left her earthly home on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles R. “Dick” Morrett.
Born Feb. 29, 1924, in Steelton, she was a daughter of the late James F. Sr. and Rotha V. (Meals) Mulholland. She would have celebrated her 24th “Leap Year” birthday this year.
Lorraine retired from Brodart Co. after over 20 years of service. She was an avid reader, loved sudoku, puzzles, dancing and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Daniel L. Morrett (Nancy Carlin), of Williamsport; a daughter, Marsha L. Baker (Daryl Steve), of Cogan Station; six grandchildren, Nathan Shipman (Tanya Troutman), Jay Shipman (Carol Calvert), Rachel (Shipman) Eck (Wayne), Philip Shipman (Shannon Bock), Danielle (Morrett) Briggs (Michael) and Greg Morrett (fiancee Kimberly Lauletta); 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by a son, Richard J. Morrett; a brother, James F. Mulholland Jr.; a sister Vilma E. Zugay; and a great-grandson, Brenden C. Shipman.
A funeral service to honor the life of Lorraine will be held noon Friday, Jan. 10, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with Rev. Mark D. Brumbach officiating. Burial will follow in Trout Run Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
