William J. Morris, Jr., 86

William J. Morris, Jr., 86, of Williamsport passed away on November 28, 2019.

He was born in Williamsport on Aug. 31, 1933 a son of William J. Sr. and Marguerite A. Swartz Morris.

He was employed at the former GTE Sylvania in Montoursville until the plant closed then he transferred to their plant in St. Mary’s until his retirement.

A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served aboard the USS Waller, he served from 1952 until 1956. Bill was a life member of both the American Legion Post 104 in Montoursville and of VFW Post 7863 in Duboistown. He also a member of the NRA and the Newberry Independent Club.

Bill was a member of the former Ascension Catholic Church, now St. Joseph the Worker Parish. He was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed model railroading, in addition he enjoyed all things nautical.

Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret E. Fantaske, they celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2019. In addition, he is survived by his children; Michael J. Morris of Muncy, James L. (Sandra) Morris of Montoursville, Michele Morris of Stuart, Fla., James (Patrice) Bartley of Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Alyssa and Emily Morris, Brianna Morris, Joshua Tyler, Justin Tyler and Damon Tyler, Crystal Morris, Erica Norris and Christopher Bartley, Leslie Bartley, James Bartley and Julia Bartley.

In addition to his parents, a son, Patrick Morris, step-sons, Donald and Timothy Bartley and brother Richard L. Morris all preceded him in death.

The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. 3rd St., Williamsport on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until noon.

A funeral service honoring the life of William will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at noon. Burial will follow at Montoursville Cemetery.
