Dorothy E. Burd, 74, of South Williamsport, “won the battle” on September 29, 2019 at the Williamsport Hospital.
She is preceded in death by G. William Burd, her husband of 27 years at his passing in 2000. Together they owned Burd Abstracting prior to her employment at the Lycoming County Court House as a Clerk III.
Dottie is also preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy Kaufman and Beulah G. Kaufman Wrede and an aunt, Isabel M. Clemens.
She is survived by two daughters, Kymberly A. (Christopher) Dunlap, of South Williamsport and Susie M. (Martin) Hill of Chicago, and three grandchildren, Ian N. Dunlap, Lydia N. Dunlap, and Andrew K. Hill.
Services will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 at Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church, Williamsport, with Rev. James West officiating. Family visitation will begin at 9:30am, with the funeral to follow at 10:00am and burial at Montoursville Cemetery.
The family asks for no flowers but would appreciate donations be made in Dottie’s memory to: American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge, 125 Lucy Avenue, Hummelstown, PA 17036 or the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport PA, 17701.
Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
