Sarah Elizabeth Kaufman, 29, of 2102 Northway Rd., passed away suddenly at UPMC Williamsport, Friday April 19, 2019.
She was born in Berwick on October 11, 1989. She was the daughter of Scott and Leanne Hartman Kaufman and sister of Ann Kaufman.
She was a proud graduate of St. Ann Elementary School and St. John Neumann High School in 2007, a year earlier than she should. She was a graduate of Misericordia University majoring in elementary and special education with a minor in religious studies. She received the Religious Honors Award at graduation in 2011. Sarah immediately started her graduate studies in Pastoral Studies at Loyal Universities of Chicago, graduating in 2013. She than began working on her second Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Messiah College and would have graduated May 11, 2019. She was currently finishing her internship at Harbor of Hope, Berwick, with plans to open her own counseling practice.
She was a member of St. Ann Church, North Central American Red Cross, Disaster Services, PA Counseling Association, and Misericordia Alumni Association. Sarah enjoyed reading, traveling, wine tasting, cruising, cooking and baking. She was known for making rosaries. She loved spending time with her God daughters Kyra and Sadie. She will be sadly missed by her family, many friends and her companion puppy Mazzie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. Anns Church, 1220 Northway Rd., Williamsport, PA with Reverends John J. Victoria and Andrew J. Kurovsky officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut St., in Berwick.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Rd., Williamsport from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
