The Pajama Factory’s annual GREEN-O-REE will be held Saturday, April 20th!
Come celebrate all things ‘green’ at our Spring Sustainability Festival The Pajama Factory’s annual Spring Festival is back – bigger and better than ever. At the Pajama Factory, sustainability is a core value, and we wanted an event to celebrate just that. With more local, eco-friendly vendors, an egg hunt for the kids, and upcycled art demonstrations, this event is sure to be fun for the whole family. Here’s what we have planned for the day:
The day begins at 10:00 a.m. with meditation lead by Nina Riggle in our Courtyard. A Portrait Drawing Session held in Studio 9-211 will also start at 10:00 a.m. and go to noon. It’s just $5 per person and open to all levels. Just bring your own drawing supplies. At 11:00 a.m., an egg hunt will kick off in the Community Room. It’s free for kids and a special, grand prize egg will be hidden for each age group (0-3, 4-6, 7-10, 11+).
From 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., guests can enjoy open artist studios (if you see an open door, go through it!), vendors and nonprofit groups in the Community Room and Courtyard, and the PJF Garden Committee will host a plant swap throughout the event. Bring a plant, get a ticket. Label plants with names and requirements. No plants? $5 can buy you 3 tickets. Factory Works Gallery (Studio 9-210N) is exhibiting Melissa Forkner Lesher: Running Tape. This work is made exclusively from recycled and repurposed materials and contains 19 miles of upcycled VHS tape.
Noon has two opportunities for visitors to enjoy: a Sound Bath healing session in Studio 10-218 with Kaitlynn Tassone of Transformational Tones and Lycoming Arts Art2Go! Art Cart will teach kids how to build bird houses from recycled materials in our Courtyard.
From 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., the Factory Works Photo Lab will be holding a drop-in Cyanotype Workshop in the Courtyard. The process uses sunlight and water to produce beautiful one-of-a-kind photograms. A limited number of 5×8 pretreated sheets will be available (2 for $10 or 5 for $20). First come, first serve! The Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity & Restore will be providing kids repurposed art demonstrations at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room. At 3:00 p.m., Kaitlynn Tassone will hold a second Sound Bath and all guests who attend either session will be entered for a chance to win a prize in honor of Transformational Tones’ Grand Opening!
