Theresa Elizabeth Starr, 88

Theresa Elizabeth Starr, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Valley View Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 27, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Ross.

Theresa was a graduate of South Williamsport High School. After graduating, she was a switchboard operator for The Bell Telephone Company, before becoming a wife and mother.

On July 14, 1951, she married Byron B. Starr, who preceded her in death in 2005.

She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, who found comfort in her faith every day.

Surviving are her 11 children, Janet (Starr) and David Derr, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; Kathy (Starr) and Grant Myers, of Linden; Mary (Starr) and Charlie Bendock, of Laceyville; William Starr and Karen Laudenslager, of Trout Run; David Starr, of Easton; Susan (Starr) and Jay Keller, of Shenandoah; Theresa (Starr) and Gregg Snyder, of Williamsport; Byron and Becki Starr, of Harrisburg; Carol Starr and Mark Brophy, of Wellsville, N.Y.; Barbara (Starr) and Rik Niklaus, of Williamsport; and JoAnn (Starr) and John Carbaugh, of Carlisle; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and dear friends who brought joy to her life every day.

Preceding her in death was an infant son, Jeffrey John Starr, and sister, Dorothy Moff.

Theresa was a beloved mother and grandmother, who lived to be with all of her children and grandchildren. Her life was an example of grace, love and kindness. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her dearly.

The family will receive family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Wednesday, April 10, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, with the Rev. William Corcoran officiating.

Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
