Mabel L. Huggins, 84

Mabel L. Huggins, 84, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at UMPC Susquehanna Williamsport. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Richard W. âDickã Huggins, on July 16, 2002.

Born May 16, 1934, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Leslie C. and Verda E. (Isbell) Aderhold.

Mabel was a graduate of Williamsport High School and previously worked at Triangle Shoes (Tri-State Store), Prior and Sallada, Carroll House, L.L. Stearns, and J.C. Penney.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Williamsport and was a long time member of the former High Street United Methodist Church where she served as financial secretary and treasurer, Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher, and was very active in many other church activities. She was also a member of the Trout Unlimited and Lycoming Creek Angler’s Club.

Mabel enjoyed baking, bowling, fishing, and camping with her family and spending time with her five grandsons. Mabel’s family was very blessed to have her in their lives. She was a sweet, kind, generous, and loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her three daughters, Sandra L. Baumgartner and Lucinda K. Flook (Daniel), both of Williamsport and Diana J. Six (Hunter), of Catawissa, her son, Richard A. Huggins (Kathy), of Millville, five grandsons, Daniel and Matthew Flook, of Williamsport, Sean and William Baumgartner, of Cogan Station, and Oak Six, of Catawissa,three brothers, Harrison, Howard, and Donald Aderhold , and two sisters, Pearl Long and Alice Neyhart.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Harold Aderhold and four sisters, Grace Porter, Ruth Doebler, Sally Shaffer, and Olive Russell.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mabel will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10 at First United Methodist Church 604 Market Street, Williamsport with the Rev. Richard D. Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Williamsport.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mabel’s name to any youth organization at First United Methodist Church, 604 Market Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
