A new outdoor theater, estimated to cost $85,000 may be constructed soon about two miles west of Linden on the Williamsport to Jersey Shore road.
If the theater is constructed, it will be known as the “Harvest Moon.” At present five residents of the Bellefonte area have made a payment on about 150 acres of ground owned by O.K. Robinson, Linden.
Other negotiations between the newly formed company and the property holders are in progress. A check revealed that a permit to build in that area had not yet been granted by Woodward Township officials.
The land where the new theater may be built is in the portion of the township zoned for business. The president of the board of supervisors, Alston W. Biller, says he has not been contacted for a building permit. He said that in all probability a permit would be granted for the theater provided no theater billboards would be erected in the area.
H.E. Neill, a member of the newly formed group, explained that approximately 600 stalls will be provided at the site and as soon as negotiations are completed, work will begin. Opening date for the new theater is the latter part of May or the early part of June.
