Williamsport: The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society, 858 West Fourth Street, will be holding the third in a series of workshops for children on Sunday, March 10, 2019, from 1:00pm until 4:30pm. The workshop is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is strongly requested. The costs of the workshop are underwritten by a grant from the Free and Accepted Masons. Guests are reminded that Sunday is the first full day after turning our clocks ahead one hour the night before.
The Children’s Workshop will be a study of architecture and art. A short lecture on the history of the diverse architecture that exists throughout the County will begin the session. This will be followed by a photographic look at some of the great architecture within Millionaires’ Row. Rita Bower and Steve Bower will then lead an artistic endeavor. Utilizing cardboard, black paint and sketches, the child will construct a 3-D ‘line drawing’ of the building. A snack is offered during the afternoon.
The Workshops will continue, approximately once a month, and will explore various aspects of history and culture as related to Lycoming County. The Workshops will be open to children of any age and are free of charge. An application is available at the Front Desk or online at the museum’s website http://www.tabermuseum.org.
