The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs have set the opening night reception for their 25th Annual “Unrestricted” Photography Show for Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Thomas Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society in Williamsport from 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited to come and vote for their favorite photographs while enjoying wine, cheese, and refreshments prepared by the members of the photography group.
This year there will be three member judges in addition to the “People’s Choice Awards” that are presented at each show. They will critique the show and award a Best of Show Ribbon as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and “Honorable Mention” ribbons plus, there will be monetary awards given with each ribbon placement, which will be presented during the reception.
This exhibition encourages the members’ creativity portraying a wide diversity of skills and talent; all work is original by the members. For contestants to be eligible to receive one of the ‘People’s Choice Awards’ of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, everyone attending the opening night reception may vote for their five favorite images. All winners will be announced the same night.
The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs is comprised of both amateur and professional photographers of diverse talent and backgrounds. Their work will be on display from Feb. 8th until Monday, Feb. 25th. The historical museum is located at 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport. The organization meets on the fourth Monday of every month at the Thomas Taber Museum. All meetings are open to the public and start at 7 p.m.
