Stephen M. Stine, 74, of Gamble Twp., passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1944 In Williamsport a son of Daniel and Jeannette Cupp Stine.
Steve retired as a heavy equipment operator out of local # 542 International Union of Operating Engineers and was a member of Muncy American Legion Post 268. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles and woodworking.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Owen and Lisle, and sisters, Ruth Freezer and Beverly Phillips.
Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years the former Jane A. Betts; sons, Stephen M. Jr. (Susan) Stine of Montoursville and Shane A. (Shaw) Stine of Waterville; daughters, Michelle J. (Ed) Gansel of Loyalsock Twp., Melissa S. (Melvin) Mingle of Cogan Station, and Tammy Stine of Fla.; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St. Montoursville. Interment will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday morning from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Lycoming Co. S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
