Margaret “Meg” Eileen Finn, 42, born December 17, 1975, died unexpectedly while traveling to China on Tuesday November 13, 2018.
Meg was the daughter of Doctors David and Martha Finn. She was a graduate of Kent School in Connecticut and Harvard University. After living in Boston and Los Angeles, she returned to her roots in Williamsport—the town that she loved.
She recently assumed the role of Executive Director of the Lycoming Arts Council and was working diligently to promote the collaboration of Williamsport’s rich art community and downtown businesses. She was on the Board of the Uptown Music Collective, a member of Kiwanis, and committed to Susquehanna Greenways and its development of our regional beauty.
Meg loved theater, music, and engaging conversation. She was a passionate animal advocate. Her enthusiasm and compassion for others will be missed in the community. Her family is heartbroken by her early death.
To our FB community- on behalf of the Finn and Straiton families, we wish to thank you from the depth of our souls for the outpouring of love and support being offered- it is so precious to us at this particular time, and for which we will remain eternally grateful.
We wish to share that Meg’s Life Celebration Service will be held on Sunday, December 9, at 3 pm in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. 4th St., Williamsport, PA 17701. We would be honored by your presence commemorating Meg’s life- it will be a time of great music, sharing, and celebration.
In response to numerous questions we have received regarding flowers and contributions, we politely ask for you to consider making a contribution to either 1) an arts organization of your personal choice, or 2) the Lycoming County SPCA- both objects of Meg’s tremendous passion and affection.
Thank you!
Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport.
