American Rescue Workers Need Donations

Last week was Thanksgiving, a time centered around appreciation of the blessings in our lives, including family, friends and food. But, for over 400 men, women, and children right here in Lycoming County, this holiday would have been spent alone without the turkey and trimmings if not for the American Rescue Workers’ annual holiday meals.

On Thanksgiving Day (as well as Christmas Day and Easter Monday) ARW serves a free community meal. On Christmas Day, from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. at 643 Elmira Street, the ARW dining room will be serving turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, candied sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, desserts, and drinks. Please call by 4pm on Friday the 22nd to schedule home deliveries for shut-ins.

The American Rescue Workers still need your donations of turkeys, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, brown sugar, butter, and canned vegetables, as well as volunteers to help prepare the Christmas meal. Donations can be dropped off at American Rescue Workers, 643 Elmira Street, Williamsport, PA 17701. Please call Kaylin Kane at 570-323-8401 x117 with inquiries.
