Thanksgiving is behind us. Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday are all done, so that means it is officially the Christmas season.
I am admittedly a holiday procrastinator. Once I find my Christmas Spirit, it’s on like the tree in Rockefeller Center, but until then I can be a little Grinch-y.
It’s not that I don’t love the holidays, I do. For some reason, I have to ease my way into the holiday pool.
That usually starts when we get a Christmas tree. That’s almost always step one. For years Erik and I picked out Christmas tree out of a parking lot. I always enjoyed it, and we always found great trees, but last year we went on an adventure and went to an actual tree farm to pick out our tree! We had a lot of fun wandering around trying to find the perfect tree — even after I fell in the mud! With better thought out boots, I am looking forward to heading out tree hunting again this year!
Hopefully, I won’t need much more than that to find my Christmas Spirit!
Speaking of Christmas cheer—don’t forget to enter our Blaise Alexander Christmas Fun Coloring Contest. The coloring page is on page 19 and entries are due by December 12th. Our Webb Weekly elves are hard at work getting all the entries organized and ready for judging. Got Jimmy to spring for a new batch of elves to judge the contest this year! We are happy to welcome Frangelico Hollycrackers, Mincepie Gingersparkles, Hazelnut Toffeepudding and Honeycomb Icicletree as our new judges! They are going to help me organize all the entries and pick all the winners. Jimmy had to pay a fortune in airfare to get them here, but luckily they don’t have much in the way of labor costs. They can pretty much be placated with cookies and hot cocoa, but Honeycomb does seem to have a weird thing for candy canes and those Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes.
So get your entries in and help spread the holiday cheer! It’s the perfect time of year just to enjoy life and appreciate the fun of the season!
