Cynthia I. Hughes, 56, of Cogan Station, met her Lord and Savior, all too soon, on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at UPMC-Susquehanna after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Surviving is her loving husband of 37 years, who kept the faith and never lost hope or left her side, Jeffrey L. Hughes, Sr.
Born January 4, 1962 in Williamsport she is a daughter of the late Howard R. Henne and Irene A. (Jones) Henne of Williamsport.
Cindy was a graduate of Williamsport High School and in the past worked as part of the Support Staff in the Williamsport Area School District. She also provided care and showed compassion to those who needed assistance in their homes for many years. Above all her greatest role in life was being a mother to her children and MeMe to her grandchildren, who she supported endlessly and loved dearly.
Cindy attended Hepburn Baptist Church and was an avid gardener who loved being in her greenhouse. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and in her earlier years playing pool in different area leagues. Cindy was a great cook and could put on a very impressive Sunday dinner spread, times she cherished being with her family. She was a kind loving person who touched many lives.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are her four children; Jason L. Hughes (Meta) of Treasure Island, FL., Jeffrey L. (Crystal) Hughes, Jr. of Cogan Station, Jennifer P. (Nathan) DiMarco, of Williamsport and Ian S. (Amy) Andrews, of Trout Run; 10 grandchildren, Autumn, Ashley, Benjamin, Cheyenne, Mason, Liza, Aaliyah, Maddy, Sam and Marissa; one great grandson Lincoln Wyatt; two brothers; Howard R. (Gloria) Henne, Jr., of South Williamsport, Dale (Kathy) Henne of Cogan Station; a brother in law Casey R. Doane also of Cogan Station; and her beloved fur babies, Dori and Annie.
In addition to her father, Cindy was preceded in death by a sister Pamela K. Doane.
