The South Williamsport 8-9-10 Softball All-Stars, their coaches, and families have had quite the summer. As soon as their regular Little League season ended, the All-Star team was selected and started their practices mornings and evenings! The girls completed an undefeated District run with a final win over Clinton LL July 4th at Clinton. They then moved onto sectionals that were held in Minersville, PA, where they also completed an undefeated run with a win over Troy LL on Wednesday July 11th. Alizabeth Schuler paved the way to state playoffs with her stellar pitching. South’s solid defense, and their hot bats pushed them undefeated through the state bracket to the Championship Game where they lost 0-1 to Back Mountain LL forcing the “IF” game. South girls made the trip back to Fleetville, PA and turned the tables on Back Mountain to accomplish a 1-0 win and become Pennsylvania State Champions! They move on to the East Regional Tournament representing Pennsylvania and start play with their 1st game Saturday 12:30 p.m. vs Delaware. The eastern regional tournament runs Saturday 7/28-Friday 8/3 at Jenkins Township LL in Jenkins Township, PA.
