Following the action taken yesterday afternoon in the Lycoming Hotel by the general membership of the Committee of 100 in approving their trustees’ work of the past month and a half, all negotiations, with the exception of the completion of the contracts, for the acquisition of the Carey-McFall Company, of Philadelphia, manufacturers of automobile blinds, awnings and the wooden rollers, have been completed.

Through the work of a special committee, satisfactory arrangements have been made for the company to buy the building formerly occupied by the Montoursville Furniture Company in Montoursville.

In outlining the assets of the company and work which has been done between representatives of the company and the committee yesterday, William Waldeisen, president of the Committee of 100, pointed out the company expected to employ 75 workers as soon as it could install machinery with expectations pointing toward 300 within a year and possibility of reaching a capacity of 400 within a few years.

Mr. Waldeisen went on to state that a complete investigation of the company has been made which revealed that the company has been in business for more than 75 years, that it has been working at full capacity on a 24-hour schedule and that the company expects to install $50,000 worth of machinery in the building in Montoursville.

The site in Montoursville was preferred over other vicinities because it has a railroad siding and ample room for expansion. In coming to this district, the officials of the company chose Montoursville over offers within 50 to 75 miles of Philadelphia, their headquarters.

Present plans for the moving of the woodworking part of the factory here with thoughts of moving more in as progress takes place.
