Cutters Add Phillies 1st Round Pick to Roster

The Cutters had a flurry of player moves last week including the addition of the Phillies 1st round draft pick, 3B Alec Bohm (Wichita State), to the Williamsport roster. Other 2018 draft picks joining the team include; RHP Tyler Carr (31st Rd., Univ. South Alabama), RHP James McArthur (12th Rd., Univ. of Mississippi), RHP Jack Perkins (11th Rd., Stetson Univ.), RHP Austin Ross (35th Rd., Radford Univ.), C Jesse Wilkening (14th Rd., Univ. Nebraska), & 3B Matt Kroon (18th Rd., Oklahoma State).
The following players were transferred to the GCL Phillies; LHP Denny Martinez, INF Jesus Azuaje, 1B Stoney O’Brien & LHP Anton Kuznetsov.

Cutters Partnering with LiveSource for In-Stadium Auctions

The Williamsport Crosscutters have announced a partnership with LiveSource to utilize fan engagement in a mobile auction platform for the 2018 season. The Cutters will utilize the LiveSource mobile app to offer fans opportunities for their charitable jersey and cap auctions. The LiveSource app will provide a better experience for fans bidding at the ballpark, as the entire process can be done via a smartphone or tablet. Fans who are not in attendance will the opportunity to bid through the app as well, eliminating the standard of in-person bidding. Payment, winning, bidding and delivery is all facilitated on mobile devices through the LiveSource app and website. The Crosscutters have charitable jersey auctions scheduled for July 22 (Law Enforcement Appreciation), July 29 (Military Appreciation) and August 9 (Cutters Throwback Jerseys). Fans can download the app today for iOS and Android.

Happy Hours at BB&T Ballpark

Wednesday is the new Friday! The Williamsport Crosscutters have announced the return of Hump Day Happy Hours at BB&T Ballpark this summer. The non-game day events, presented by Boom City Brewing Co., take place on select Wednesdays until September 26. Each Hump Day Happy Hour runs from 5pm-8pm on the UPMC Loggers Landing, located down the right field line. Each happy hour event features live music, full bar and food service plus $1 drafts and $1 hot dogs. There is no admission charge. Hump Day Happy Hours are held weather permitting.

Cutters Dominican Dinner Returns July 10

The Williamsport Crosscutters have teamed up with A.C.E.S. North America in announcing the 5th Annual Dominican Plate – An Evening of Dominican Dining and Entertainment with the Cutters.

The event will be held on Tuesday, July 10 in the Grand Ballroom of the Genetti Hotel, 200 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Doors open at 5:30pm with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar followed by a Dominican-style dinner served at 6:30pm. The buffet dinner of traditional Dominican fare will be served by members of the Williamsport Crosscutters who hail from the Dominican Republic, along with some of their teammates.

Proceeds from the event benefit A.C.E.S. North America, an organization working to create sustainable development projects in the Dominican Republic. The charity, founded in Williamsport in 2005, uses all-volunteer personnel for its operations.

In addition, the night will feature live musical entertainment, Chinese and live auctions of sports memorabilia and other items plus a balloon bust wine raffle. Last year’s event raised over $7,000 for the charity.’

Due to the popularity of this event in the past, reserved seating is utilized to make for a more comfortable evening for all attendees. Tickets for The Dominican Plate are $20 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. Tables of 8 may be purchased for $150. Tickets must be purchased in advance online at crosscutters.com, by phone at (570) 326-3389 or by visiting the Sawmill Team Store at BB&T Ballpark.
