William L. Servey, 84, a resident of Williamsport passed away suddenly at the Williamsport Home on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

Bill was born in Clarion on Dec. 28, 1933, a son of Fred H. and Anna Mae (Haugh) Servey.

A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, he served with the 101st Airborne Division, the “Screaming Eagles”.

After leaving the army, he was employed in the aircraft industry, in quality assurance, for Piper in Lock Haven, Lockheed in Georgia and with Boeing. Bill loved the outdoors and he was also employed as a Deputy Game Warden out of the Jersey Shore office. In Nippenose Valley, he was a boy scout leader and also a coach and Little League founder.

Bill was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

His first wife the former Daneen Smathers, died March 15, 2004.

Surviving are his wife, the former Bernadette (Tupper Eck), they would have celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on July 22, 2018. He is also survived by his children David Servey (Ruthie Mosteller) of Montoursville, Timothy Servey (Elke Beyer) of Hughesville, Sandra Servey Nau of Loyalsock Twp., step children, Richard Eck (Trish) of Williamsport, Teri Snook (Jeff) of Montoursville, Andrew Eck of Dryden, NY, Barb Van Horn of Montgomery, John Eck (Deb) of Colorado Springs, CO, Anne Evangelista of Montgomery, Jeanne McCaslin of Trout Run, Chuck Eck of Muncy, 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, infant step son Lawrence H. Eck, also two step grandchildren, a sister Jane Callendar and brother Fred Servey all preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends on Monday July 2, 2018 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 West Central Ave., South Williamsport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 11:00 a.m. at the church with his pastor, Rev. William Corcoran officiating, followed by full Military Honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
