Frank L. Doebler, 73, of 578 Kimble Hill Rd., Williamsport passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the Gatehouse. He and his wife the former Mary Lou Watts were married on October 9, 1976 and celebrated 41 years together.
Frank was born on August 15, 1944 in Williamsport and was the son of Wilson Koch Doebler, Sr. and Emily Ertel Doebler.
He was a 1962 graduate of Williamsport High School and a 1966 graduate of Lycoming College. Following college he taught school in New York for 8 years. He returned to Williamsport to help operate the Williamsport Foundry and later became owner of the foundry. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 50 year member of both Masonic Lodge 106 and Rochester Consistory and he was also a Shriner. He loved skiing, playing ping pong, reading and traveling the world.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; three sons, Daniel Boone of Gibsonville, NC, James Boone of Williamsport, Jeremiah Doebler of Richland, WA; two brothers Walter Doebler of Williamsport, Raymond Doebler of Bloomsburg; one sister Emily Taylor of Williamsport; five grandchildren, Stephen Boone, Russell Boone, Elizabeth Kribb, Monica Boone, L. J. Boone; three great grandchildren, Finley Jane Kribb, Nomi Mae Boone, Hazel Grace Boone. He was predeceased by a brother Wilson Koch Doebler, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday May 27, 2018 in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 142 Market St., Williamsport with Rev. James West officiating. Internment will be in St. Mark’s Church.
