Mr. William Elias Fink, 89

Mr. William Elias Fink, 89, longtime Williamsport resident, died Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Arista Care, Montoursville, surrounded by his family.

Born March 28, 1928, at Williamsport, he was the son of the late James D. and Mary (Drick) Fink.

William was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He had been stationed in Germany.

William is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joanne L. Corle Shaffer Fink. He is also survived by his daughter, Deborah (Gary) Corter, of Linden; his two sons, Jim (Robin) Fink, of Cogan Station and Shawn (Wendy) Fink, of Salladasburg; one granddaughter; 8 grandsons; 19 great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert (Marsha) Fink, in North Carolina; his sister, Ruth (Larry) Gephart, in Florida; two stepsons, Ronald (Renee) Shaffer, in Florida and Richard (Lauren) Shaffer, also in Florida; three step grandsons; and two step great-granddaughters.

In addition to his late parents, he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Jim and Dave Fink and his two sisters, Mary Catherine Deitrick and Caroline Blair.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation and with private graveside services held at the convenience of the family. Graveside Military Honors will be provided by the Jersey Shore Veterans Honor Guard of the V.F.W.

The family declines to receive floral tributes and respectfully suggests that contributions in memory of Mr. William Elias Fink may be made to Saint Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the Staff and Caregivers at Arista Care for the excellent care that was given to Bill.

The family is being assisted in funeral arrangements by the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport.
