Sandra L. Bussom, 70, of Montoursville, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport Regional Medical Center. She was born May 2, 1947 in Harrisburg a daughter of Warner G. and Peggy L. Kuhlwind Gens.

Sandy was a 1965 graduate of Montoursville High School, a 1967 graduate of Williamsport Community College and in 1970 graduated from Mansfield State College. She taught in the Williamsport School District, first and second grades at Hepburn Lycoming and Jackson Elementary schools, retiring after 32 years in 2002. She was a life member of NEA and PSEA. She liked to read, do puzzles, listen to oldies music, collets Marie Osmond dolls, Boyds Bears, cookie jars, Byers Choice Carolers, and was a Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankee and Pitt Panther fan.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister Kim Winter, and brother Warner G. Gens, Jr.

Surviving are her sisters, Peggy Gens of Montoursville, Cathy (Ken) Kaufman of Montoursville, Jodi (Tim) Eberly of Oregon and several nieces and nephews.

A private family funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Spitler funeral Home, 733 Broad St. Montoursville with the Rev. Jerry Uppling officiating. Interment will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. The will be no viewing or visitation.

The family will provide the flowers and per Sandy’s request donations be made to the Lycoming Co. S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
