Dolores June (Pfleegor) Yost, 91

Dolores June (Pfleegor) Yost, 91, of Turbotville, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born December 23, 1926 in Lewis Twp., Northumberland County, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Susan (Sholley) Pfleegor. On July 9, 1947 she married Jack R. Yost and they celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death February 9, 2000.

She and her husband owned and operated a “Mr. Pizza” Shop on the Golden Strip in Williamsport earlier in life. Following retirement, they relocated to Tennessee where they resided for 25 years.
An artist starting at the age of 73, she studied eight years with Edward Steinhelper of Williamsport and enjoyed water color painting.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville and the Jolly Bunch Senior’s group there, and a member of California Grange #941.

Dolores enjoyed reading her Bible.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jack R. and Donna Yost, Turbotville; a daughter, Roxana Kvalkauskas, Montgomery; two grandchildren: Susan Yost and Terry Kvalkauskas; five great-grandchildren: Tiana Pfirman, Lucas Kvalkauskas, Britney, Kylie, and Victoria Pintha; and a brother, John (Viola) Pfleegor, Turbotville.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were three sisters: Evelyn Pfleegor, Bessie Whitmoyer, and Helen Reichelderfer, and a brother, William Pfleegor.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 39 Paradise Street, Turbotville where the funeral will be held at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Erwin C. Roux, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors through Zion Lutheran Church at PO Box 277, Turbotville, PA 17772.
