Richard “Dick” Sholtis, 91

Richard “Dick” Sholtis, 91, of Montoursville died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Valley View Nursing Center in Montoursville.

Born October 30, 1926, in Rossiter, PA, he was a son of the late Charles and Naomi (Siverling) Sholtis.

Dick was a graduate of Muncy High School, Class of 1946. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Sones Lumber and Building Supplies for 17 years, and was a District Supervisor for McDonalds for 22 years. He was also a part-time courier for Northern Central Bank and Woodlands Bank. Dick was a member of the New Life Church, Muncy, and Trinity Assemby of God Church, Montoursville. He was also a member of the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County, the Antique Automobile Club of America, and the Susquehannock Region AACA. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels and was a van driver for the Veterans of Foreign Wars VA Hospital.

He is survived by a daughter, DeEtta Lassance of Philadelphia; a son, Bryan R. (Amanda) Sholtis of Montoursville; a brother, Philip (Marilee) Sholtis of Muncy; and three grandchildren, Ashley Sholtis, Evan Sholtis, and Julien Lassance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sholtis.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 20 at New Life Church, 1006 Village Rd., Muncy, PA,17756 with Rev. Robert A. Lauver officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Life Church.
