Kenneth L. “Kenny” Frey, Sr., 85

Kenneth L. “Kenny” Frey, Sr., 85, of Linden, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Presbyterian Home, Williamsport. He was born in Linden on February 9, 1939, to the late Herman W. and Frieda (Robinson) Frey.

Kenny was a member of Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, Jersey Shore. Early in his life, he worked at Jersey Shore Steel Company and Branch Motor Express. He retired in 2004, after over 30 years, from Lucas Trucking where he found fulfillment in his career as a truck driver. Kenny married the former Joyce A. Brooks on May 14, 1960, they shared over 64 wonderful years together.

Kenny loved to hunt, farm and was a huge outdoorsman. He was a member of the Walker Hunting Club, where he enjoyed many days and nights at camp. He was an awesome Pap, attending and never missing any of his grandchildren’s sporting events. Kenny loved to travel with his family; he was always the first person in the car. He enjoyed days spent at the family cabin. Most of all, Kenny was reliable. He was always there for his family if they needed help, whether it was mowing the lawn or splitting wood, Kenny wanted to contribute.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; a son, Kenneth L. Frey, Jr. (Karen) of Jersey Shore; a daughter, Lori A. Brooks (Mark) of Cogan Station; six grandchildren, Joshua Brooks (Brittany), Jeremy Brooks (Heather), Jenna Parker (Nick), Kenneth L. Frey III, Adam Frey (Alissa) and Jeffrey Pennycoff; eight great granddaughters, four great grandsons; and a sister, Jean Slykhuis of Linden.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Frey; a brother, Howard Frey; and a sister, Anna Marshall-Smith.

The funeral service for Kenny will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at noon at Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, 26 Locomo Lane, Jersey Shore, with Pastor Ronald Savits officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing on Thursday beginning at 10:00 A.M. until noon at the church. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
