James Richard Wheeler, 67

James Richard Wheeler, 67, of Williamsport and formerly of Loyalsock Twp. passed away on Feb. 5, 2019.

He was born in Williamsport on July 1, 1951 a son of Joseph J. and Mildred (Staniszewski) Wheeler. He was a member of St Boniface Catholic Church.

Jim was an electrician and a former member of the local IBEW.

An Army veteran of the Vietnam War he served from 1971 thru 1973.

He was a graduate of Loyalsock Twp. High School, he was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar and the accordion. When he was younger, Jim played in a number of local bands, including: The Just Four and The Continentals.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Loyalsock Twp. are two daughters; Nicole R. Ritter of Hughesville and Alissa A. Totten of Manheim; two grandchildren Tristan A. Ritter and Troy Totten; seven siblings, Barbara T. Grimes, Joseph P. Wheeler, John M. Wheeler, Robert M. Wheeler, Edward T. Wheeler, Frederick M. Wheeler and Juanita M. Neifert.

In addition to his father a brother Kenneth R. Wheeler preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with his pastor, Rev. William Corcoran officiating.
