Helen C. Schon Hibschman, 94

Helen C. Schon Hibschman, 94 a resident of the Williamsport Home, died there Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the home. She was born September 23, 1923 in Nippenose Valley, the daughter of Howard C. and Anna Kimick Eck.

Helen was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School class of 1941 and the State Beauty School. She operated a beauty salon in her Loyalsock home before helping her husband, operate the Former Schon’s Tastee Freez located on the Golden Strip.

Helen was married to William B. Hibschman for 29 years until his death in 2013. Her first husband, Bill Schon passed away in 1971.

Helen was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and had retired from operating the Tastee Freez in 1975. Helen and Bill Hibschman traveled extensively during their marriage visiting many countries in five continents.

Helen is survived by her son, Jon Schon and his wife, Linda of Montoursville, and her grandson, Sam Schon and his wife, Katie and three great grandchildren of Huston, TX. She is also survived by a step-daughter, S. Rebecca Hibschman of Muncy.

In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by a son Chris, brothers, Jim and Robert Eck, and sisters, Irene Eiswerth and Ruth Eck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 20, 2018 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Rd. Williamsport with the Rev. John J. Victoria as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday morning from 9 – 10:00 a.m. at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St. Montoursville.
