Genevieve J. Scarfo, 97, formerly of Park Ave., passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Rose View Center.

She was born in Falls Creek, Pa., on Nov. 20, 1920, a daughter of Frank Sr. and Catherine Kolan Knouse.

Genevieve was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School in Dubois and during the war she worked as a supervisor at the Sylvania plant in Emporium.

Genevieve was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a homemaker, later in life she traveled extensively.

Surviving are her children, Francine Scarfo, of Cogan Station, Jimmy (Kathy) Scarfo, of Toquerville, Utah and Mary Bogan, of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Denise DiSalvo and Robert Scarfo, both of Williamsport, Kristin Boyle, of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-grandchildren, Vincent DiSalvo III and Francesca Disalvo-Follmer, both of Charleston, S.C. and Alyssa Boyle, of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-great-grandson, Vincent DiSalvo IV; and a sister, Helen Boyle, of Falls Creek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 44 years, Joseph; sons, Joseph II and Robert; sisters, Mary Mezler, Rosann Graham; and brothers, John and Frank Knouse.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11 a.m. at St Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with her pastor, Rev. Brian Van Fossen officiating, followed by burial at Wildwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 711 W. Edwin St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or St. Anthony’s Center, 125 E. Willow St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
