Esther Helen Bigger, 95, of Roxboro, NC, formerly of Pennsdale, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019.

Born August 18, 1923 in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late William Edward and Carrie Mae Becht. She married H. Robert Bigger on October 3, 1950, who survives.

Esther was a graduate of Muncy High School, Class of 1943. She worked as a meat wrapper at the Country Store, retiring in 1985. Esther was a member of the St. James Lutheran “White” Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived a son, Keith R. (Debbie) Bigger of Elkridge, MD; a daughter, Kay Rudd of Roxboro, NC; two grandchildren, Jessica (Christopher) Raines of Herndon, VA and Jordan (Molly) Whitmire IV, of St. Augustine, FL; and four great grandchildren, Charlotte Rae and Jackson Mack Raines, and Jordan Owen, V and Mason Samuel Whitmire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harwood Becht.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9 at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Rev. Beverly D. Cotner officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
