New Happenings!

It’s not often that I get to combine a bunch of my favorite things into one article, but I have the unique opportunity this week.
Which favorite things you ask? Well, in this case it is food, tech, saving money and Williamsport area natives who have had some great success.
Recently a new dining app call ‘Spotluck’ launched in the area. It is a cool app that lets you save money at local restaurants (#SaveMoney #EatLocal) simply by entering the app and spinning the wheel. Once you spin, a local restaurant along with an available discount will pop up. Head to the restaurant, show them your discount and bam! Money saved! Discounts will vary based on the time of day, day of the week, and even the weather has an influence.
There are a bunch of local restaurants that are taking part in the app and since the restaurants and discounts vary, it also helps to sort the old, “What do you want to do for dinner?” game.
The best part of this app, though, is the fact that two of the area’s own helped grow the app and have been integral in brining it to Williamsport. Dillon Tedesco, self-proclaimed ‘Lancer Lunatic’ for life, is the company’s Chief Revenue Officer and Williamsport grad Josh Howe is the company’s City Director. Both gentlemen have deep roots in Williamsport and were super excited about the prospect of bringing this app home to their friends and family. It is always nice to see area locals have success, but it’s especially nice when they remember their roots and help support their hometown along the way.
Obviously, all of us at Webb Weekly encourage everyone to patronize and support as much business locally as you can and this is just an extra boost to help encourage you do that!
Once again, congratulations to Dillon and Josh (and the rest of the Spotluck team) on the success of the app.
Friday Night Lights!
We are headed into the back half of the high school football season this week. There is still a lot of football to be played and the local teams are giving us some great football to watch.
Of course, Webb Weekly Live, along with PA Sports Live and Cable Sports Productions are out every week covering two games of the week that you can watch from just about anywhere.
This week there is a big matchup between Loyalsock and South Williamsport. Gary and Babe will be heading to Rodney K. Morgans stadium as the Lancers try to run through the Mounties. This should be a good game, so if you can’t make it the game, be sure to watch it at webbweeklylive.com!
The Millionaires are away this week, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss the game. Paul and Aaron are making the trip to Scranton to see if the Knights can shield against the Williamsport offense.
Again, you can watch the game at webbweeklylive.com.
Both pre-games start at 6:30 p.m. and kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. Replays will be available Saturday.
If that’s not enough football for you, don’t forget that Wednesdays mean Touchdowns and Tailgates with Gary and Jimmy! Every week they head out around the Valley to talk with players and coaches to preview the upcoming games. We’ve even managed to tap Chris Masse to help out. Replays of that are always online.
