A Few Updates…

Well, well, well, would you look at that? It looks like I found myself some dedicated space! Now every week I have the chance to talk to y’all and tell you what’s happening in the paper and in our area. Sounds fun!
Let’s talk about a bit of a visual change for Webb Weekly. Obviously this page looks a bit different now. But our directory is still over there so if you need to contact us, our information in still in roughly the same place.
As you can see, Thru the Years will be moving. We are going to start rotating that around the paper to make sure as many people as possible get to read about what was happening this time of year throughout the history of Williamsport – it just now occurred to me that Lou Hunsinger’s Thru the Years column is basically the Timehop app of Webb Weekly!
We also wanted to make sure that it was as easy as possible to find the obituary listings. So that list will now be found on page 8 of the paper each week. Complete obituaries can be found at webbweekly.com and as always, they are free to read and free to place.
The next change will be coming soon to page 5. That’s over there .
Over the past month we have had some articles from local politicians – Congressman Tom Marino, Rep. Garth Everett and Jim Dunn have all contributed to the paper and will be contributing more in the future. You can also expect to see some words from the Mayor soon. I also invite any other local politician from Federal to Municipal to feel free to submit your own articles. We will take them all into consideration.
You will find these articles on page 5 when they run.
Just so you all know, I gave each official a very stern talking to – no campaigning. We want them to take this opportunity to talk to you, the reader, about what is happening in their respective offices – good, bad and interesting. We have officially declared the space a baby-kissing-free zone!
We have recently introduced two new female writers to the Webb Weekly family.
Bernadette Ulsamer is bringing us all things fashion. I have known Bernadette for a very long time and there is no one I would trust more to offer advice when it comes to fashion! So if you are looking for tips on updating your wardrobe or upcoming trends, be sure to check out her column – Outfits, Not Just Clothes. She is on page 26 this week.
Thanks to Gerry Ayers, we have also picked up columnist Paige Smith. Paige is a lovely young lady who will be offering up her Weekly Wise Words. She will be dishing out wisdom for all, but I think she will really speak to the 20-35-year-old set.
I hope that you enjoy the updates we are making to the paper. As always, if you have a story idea for me, please drop me an email or give me a call!
Don’t forget – our entire paper is now available online at www.webbweekly.com. Our Webmaster Bill Stanford has done a great job updating the site to make it easy to navigate and easy to ‘flip’ through each page of the paper!
The website is also a great place to go for coupons. All the coupons that appear in our paper are also available online. Just bring it up on your phone, show it at the business and save $$. We are quickly approaching summer vacation time. Who doesn’t want to save money?
